Here's some random stuff I've been working on lately:

Neither of these are totally polished but they are getting there O_o
The +H boss ended up not fitting in the demo, so it might be removed or modded and saved for the full game or something. BTW the music is just a placeholder, its kinda cool though :tongue:

Controls:
Arrowkeys to move
S-Jump
D-Shoot/bombs
F-Missiles
Hold A to moonwalk
Hold S to charge

HOW TO KILL THE BOSS: I dunno how to do the spoiler thing, so just don't read this if you want to figure it out on your own. Anyways, the boss is powered by the 3 chozo statues(I think their chozos atleast), and they give it an unpenetrable shield. They also have their own shields, but they are lowered when shooting at you (they will turn golden). So when they are gold blast away. After you destroy all 3 statues the boss's shield will be lowered and he will turn red, you now continue to blast the **** out of him til he blows up. The music will continue and there is nowhere to go after you beat him, but hey atleast you won XD

As for the (very incomplete, but sturdy) Super Metroid engine, I was just bored and wanted to see if I could pull it off XD Though I have no real use for the engine I probably won't finish it and might just post it open source for someone to use. Who knows. It's got all the stuff like turning, running, spinjump, walljump, ducking and morphball with transitions, 2 different falling animations, and pretty much the same mechanics as SM, with a couple changes though XD It uses the same controls posted above.

Very nice physics! The music fits well. I loved the death animation.. *POP! The screen should not start moving around the screen when it shakes, maybe just make it go back to its original position (Think about video recorders.). I don't know how limited the level editing is in the program you are using, some rocks look weird.. Sounds for the beam sounded weird, like, they were always stopped just as they started playing. (Note: don't hold down F2, lol.) The Morph Ball was smooth and perfect. Love it because it me of my mock ball. (Were there bombs in this demo? You did mention them.) You can also see that the head ends like it was cut with a chainsaw. Maybe you'll add different images or looking left and right.

My glitch section:

-You can jump over the door (And the back of the room is missing, guess you knew that already.). (I jumped off and then scrolled to the boss, : ( saw it too early) (The image.)
-If you release UP as you press SHOOT the beam will fly straight, but it will be created where it should when aiming up. (The image.)
-You can get behind the boss. Are the missiles supposed to damage the head?

But very awesome though.

Hm, not sure what your saying by the beam sound fx cutting out before starting. Are you talking about the spazer beam? The sample I have for it has a delay, so the beam hits the wall before the sfx finishes most of the time...I'll fix that. The screen moving was an accident, the screenshake restriction is too short and its shaking so much it actually moves the window lol. As for the bombs, yeah I have that and MUUUUCH more but I can't throw it all in a random boss demo :P.. I forgot to put bombs in the bossroom.

lol, yeah I didn't add collision blocks to the right side wall, theres nothing over there yet so I was being lazy about it lol. Oh, and for that releasing up right when you shoot thing, I THOUGHT that was a glitch, but you can actually do that it SM, Fusion, and ZM, so I didn't bother changing it. The official engines actually have quite a few quirks like that O_o And finally, yes the back of the boss's head was cut off with a chainsaw. Hopefully I can get a decent spriter to help him out and get the rest of his head back, that would be good. oh, the missiles dont hurt the boss btw. Not even when shields are down I don't think. I'll fix that too O_o

Yeah its the Spazer beam. I thought I'd check it and started battling the boss then. But this time, every time he backed off he went further every time. Then he went outside the screen : S. Samus could never see those three pillars anymore.. But I like it's moveset. It only lacks an attack that would directly attack to the bottom left corner. Its too safe there.

Hmm. The fire puke attack or w/e is supposed to cover the entire bottom left, though I have noticed if you jump at the right time like in the screenshot, you won't get hurt. So i need even more flames! As for the movement, I thought I fixed that :\ It's only happened like 3/100 times up here XD. I actually made this boss battle like a month ago...its been sittin around waiting to go in a game, so until then it will remain as it is, atleast to keep it open for changes or something. Also the samus engine is getting a major overhaul, I'm starting to not like the sprites and Kenji offered to make some new ones but I haven't heard anything in a while so ..probably not..engine will stay the same without em q.q

Yeah, I forgot the flame attacks. The one with bigger fire balls could use a bit longer range.

I'm sure Kenji will help you with the sprites (if he's not too busy at school). He has promised to make me some sprites as well. I haven't just had time to show him what stuff I want, and I'm going for a trip for about 5 days tomorrow so it will have to wait.

EDIT:
Didn't bother making a new post after MM. I just realized your game had the same icon as my game.

The Super Metroid Engine was nice. Very incomplete though.
The game wouldn't even work for me. I'm going to re-download it. To see if that solves the problem.

You use vista, MetroidMaker? The vista settings are on none, so it may not work for vista users at the moment. If not then I have no idea..it's worked for everyone I've sent it to for testing and such.

Yes I use Vista. Now I'm going to re-download it. ( I had a hell of a lot of mail to check) This time I'm downloading it with Hi speed. I may lost something when using dial up.

Ahh, makes sense then. I'll go ahead and add the vista setting, I'm pretty sure I just need to change it to administrator. I'll go ahead and fix those collisions blocks and add bombs, too XD

EDIT: Uploaded the new version, it should work for all vista users now. Also added missing collision blocks and bombs, even though they dont hurt the boss :tongue: They are fun to mess around with tho.
