Room-to-Room Example By: Dragon
For a long time, I have been looking for a Room to Room tutorial that I could use for my game. I found nothing, but soon began thinking of making my own. This open source engine shows you how to use a serperate object for a player and a Camera, but only allows you to see within certain
boundaries. This tutorial can be used for Metroid, Zelda, and Castlevania games.

This example includes 7 (maybe 8) different rooms, some having more than 1 exit. I hope to bring back the
Metroid feel for fangames. Hopefully this tutorial will help people with making "Metroidy" Metroid games XD

I didn't use actual transitions (thats what Shranders tutorial is for), so it just goes from one area to the next. All code in the engine is commented, so this should be easy enough to follow.

Engine was created by me (Dragon), and be sure to put me in your credits if you use the engine, or my ripped tiles!

I'm updating the tutorial. It will include commented code, a section explaining how to use the engine, and I modified the camera code so it run much smoother. It also includes an exe and source file so GM users can try it out too.

awesome! i wish i knew how to implement easy room-to-room objects without using hunderds of objects in GM7 -_-
